Recently when I was in the office, I dared criticize the first black president of the United States, Barack Obama, on his foreign policy. When I did, I was scolded by a Sergeant First Class who said trashing is the commander in chief is like trashing, "the company commander" and is actually punishable under UCMJ. This really got under my skin because when George W. Bush was in office, I never heard anyone say anything positive about him.
Quite the contrary, I heard people say Bush was trying to get rid of black colleges. I heard people say Bush and bin Laden had orchestrated the 9/11 attacks were laughing at Americans for how stupid we were for buying into it. I heard the usual left wing drivel that we invaded Iraq for oil, or that we were there to wage the 10th Crusade or we're there committing genocide (sad when even the Army buys into left wing propaganda about the Army). I heard soldiers trash the mission and claim that we’ll never win; one soldier even told me we were going to Iraq to rape and murder innocent civilians.
Nothing ever happened to these people. There was no filter on what could be said about Bush, no matter how untrue and slanderous it was; in fact, I often got glares for saying anything positive about Bush. When I made legitimate complaints about Bush like the amnesty bill or his energy bill (you know, the one that bans the incandescent light bulbs) or when he turned a blind eye to two border agents who were wrongfully imprisoned, I had no fear of reprisal. However, when I talked negatively about our current president, I was told to shut my mouth.
This, as you can guess left me pretty miffed. It looked as though the face of the Democratic Party double-standard had reared it ushy-gushy head into the military. Then, a few days later, I thought to myself, "How can it be wrong to quote President Obama in perfect context? He should be able to stand by every word of what he says. I don't even need to criticize him. I can just repeat what he says… and I can even add a humorous element by pretending to support with him."
And thus, OS was born. Here you can see my favorite hand-picked quotes from our Commander in Chief, President Barack Hussein Obama. Here you will find a collection of the President's thoughts on things like the Constitution ("... a charter of negative liberties"); heartland, America ("... they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them...") the economy ("...when you spread the wealth around it's good for everybody."); energy ("So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can. It’s just that it will bankrupt them.") his racist, anti-Amerikkkan pastor ("... the best the black community has to offer.") You’ll also find out what he’s done, not only as president, but as a senator and as a congressman.
I can't promise I can update this regularly; I'm in the Army and I actually have to work. But I'll be sure to provide my accolades for our current commander in chief when I can.
